Private Health Insurance Ombudsman
If you have a problem with your health insurance arrangements, you should first discuss it directly with your health insurer or provider.
If you are unable to resolve your complaint, haven't received a response or need advice, contact the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman on the toll free Hotline number 1800 640 695 9am-5pm Mon-Fri (Sydney Time) or email info@phio.org.au. You can also lodge your complaint online using a PHIO Complaint Form.

Private Health Insurance Administration Council (PHIAC)
PHIAC is an independent Statutory Authority that regulates the private health insurance industry, they can provide financial and statistical data regarding health insurers and information about private health insurance to enable consumers to make informed choices.

Private Patients' Hospital Charter
To help you understand what you can expect from your health insurer, doctor and hospital, the Department of Health and Aging (DoHA) has prepared a Private Patients' Hospital Charter.
